Course Description
This course develops academic reading skills and helps students use reading as a foundation for speaking and writing. Students practice strategies to read faster and understand better, including annotating, questioning, summarizing, and identifying author purpose. Students also complete integrated tasks, where they discuss and write about what they read using accurate paraphrasing and academic language.

- Use critical reading strategies such as annotating, questioning, and summarizing
- Paraphrase and summarize academic content accurately and clearly
- Discuss readings using structured speaking strategies and academic vocabulary
